Cathaoirleach's Business

"That the Manager give a report on the works that need to be put in place at the Owendoher River because of the recent flooding to include.

• The repair of the Pedestrian Bridge at Glenbrook Park.
• The trees at this location which are dangerous be removed.
• The wall and bank of the Owendoher River at the rear of house 45 Glenbrook Park be reinstated and repaired."

REPORT:

• An on site  meeting has been arranged between the Consulting Engineer, Inland Fisheries  Ireland and SDCC staff. Options for repair which could include removal of the weir and construction of concrete troughs will be discussed with the Fisheries representative. If agreement is reached, then the consultant will design the works and complete contract documents. No source of funding to repair the bridge has yet been identified.

  In addition, work may not be allowed to commence until the end of the spawning season.

• A survey of the existing trees near the Glenbrook Footbridge site will be carried out shortly.

• As part of the structural survey of the Glenbrook Footbridge the walls and banks immediately upstream of the bridge will be examined.
