QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"To ask the Manager for an update on the re-opening of the pedestrian bridge linking Glenbrook Park and Willbrook Road, outlining timescales for this?"

REPLY:

An on site  meeting has been arranged between the Consulting Engineer, Inland Fisheries  Ireland and SDCC staff. Options for repair which could include removal of the weir and construction of concrete troughs will be discussed with the Fisheries representative.  If agreement is reached, then the consultant will design the works and complete contract documents. No source of funding to repair the bridge has yet been identified.

In addition, work may not be allowed to commence until the end of the spawning season.
