QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart

"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the condition of the Pedestrian Bridge at Glenbrook Park and Willbrook Road to give a time line for its re-opening?"

REPLY:

An on site  meeting has been arranged between the Consulting Engineer, Inland Fisheries  Ireland and SDCC staff. Options for repair which could include removal of the weir and construction of concrete troughs will be discussed with the Fisheries representative. If agreement is reached, then the consultant will design the works and complete contract documents. No source of funding to repair the bridge has yet been identified.

In addition, work may not be allowed to commence until the end of the spawning season.
