MOTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"That the Manager discuss with the aid of a report on foot of the new traffic lights along Stocking Lane & Scholarstown Road that impact on traffic flow at this location."

REPORT:

The provision of traffic lights at these locations has been funded by the NTA on the basis of enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety at these locations and will impact on traffic flow. This will also regulate traffic flow and improve vehicle safety.  Pedestrians will now be able to cross the Scholarstown Road in safety and vehicles exiting Stocking Lane will also have their safety enhanced.  The operation of the signals will be monitored especially when schools return to ensure that they are operating effectively.
