QUESTION NO. 19
QUESTION: Councillor J. Lahart
"To ask the Manager to oultine what public notification and information gathering methods were used in the Permeability Study at Dargle Wood?"
REPLY:
A ‘Local Permeability Report’ (Community Walking and Cycling Links) was presented and noted at the Rathfarnham ACM of the 14th of June 2011. Funding for the Projects was approved by the NTA in September 2011. On the 17th of October 2011 an Information Leaflet was circulated to households in the vicinity of Knocklyon to describe the project and to inform of the works commencing. The leaflet gave contact details whereby the public could contact the Travel Smart Team by phone or email to gain further information or make comment. A Travel Smart Survey was also included in the leaflet drop. The Travel Smart Survey was intended to gauge opinion on walking and cycling habits and get some feedback on the proposed link. The Travel Smart Survey was returnable by post and a facility was put in place whereby people could fill in the survey on-line. During the period before the project commenced on site, officials met with public representatives, representatives of the Residents Association in Dargle Wood / Scholarstown Park and also attended a public meeting to provide further information for residents of Dargle Wood / Scholarstown Park. In addition e-mails, phone calls and meetings with individual members of the public were received and responded to.
