QUESTION: Councillor B. Bonner

To ask the Manager to launch a buildings control investigation in relation to the apartments at Áras na Cluaine, Clondalkin?

REPLY:

áras Na Cluaine is a privately managed development in Clondalkin.  It was the subject of a number of Fire Safety warning letters in 2009 and 2010 and eventually a court action completed in February 2011. The management company are in place for ongoing routine repair and inspection.  It should be pointed out that any survey would be somewhat superficial insofar as we could not open up any areas, gain access to private dwellings or test any equipment, fixtures or fittings.
