COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL

QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor E. Higgins
To ask the Manager to consider the installation of traffic calming measures at the entrance to Oakcourt, Palmerston subject to the identification of funding?
REPLY:
Oakcourt, Palmerston, is on the Council’s traffic calming request list.
In response to a large number of requests for traffic calming measures throughout the Council’s administrative area the Council’s Transportation Strategic Policy Committee adopted a Traffic Calming programme comprising of four schemes in each of the Council’s five electoral areas. The selection of each individual scheme will be made by the relevant Area Committee from the Traffic Calming Request List.
The Lucan Area Committee will consider this list if and when they select further traffic calming schemes. However, the Council has not provided a budget for traffic calming measures in the current 2011 budget and having regard to the current financial constraints on the Council, it is unlikely that any provision will be possible in 2012 either.
