QUESTION NO. 13
QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy
To ask the Manager to present an updated report on the Taking-in-Charge of the roads and services in Rossberry Estate, Lucan?
REPLY:
Two developers built Rossberry, Kingscroft and Hollioake.
The Council is claiming security lodged for completion of remedial works to part of the development carried out by Hollioake and will seek tenders for completion of works.
However, the estate as a whole cannot be taken in charge as the Council requires unfettered access to services and in the part developed by Kingscroft there remain significant issues with residents having built walls etc blocking access to various public services; manholes, hydrants and public lighting.
The Council will have to utilise planning enforcement powers to resolve this and is clarifying legal matters on these issues with a view to taking formal action in the next 4/5 weeks.
