QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to report on the adequacy of public lighting on Quarry Drive, off Whitehall Rd West, Dublin 12 in light of reports regarding difficulty of access for voters to the polling station at St Damien's NS during the recent Presidential election, and of difficulties experienced by the residents of Quarry Drive and Whitehall Square?"

REPLY:

Public lighting on Quarry Drive is provided in accordance with the appropriate national standards. The standards set out the optimal provision of street illumination. There are no current plans to provide additional lighting at this location.

The operation of the public lighting in this area is inspected on a rolling basis in order to ensure that it is operating in a satisfactory manner and that any necessary repairs are attended to as required.
