QUESTION: Councillor E. Higgins

To ask the Manager for a report on dogs which are not appropriately controlled in parks throughout Palmerston and Lucan and to outline what action is being taken to minimise dangers to members of the public, in particular in Glenaulin Park?

REPLY:

The Council's Dog Warden carries out regular patrols in the Palmerston and Lucan areas.  Where dogs are not licenced or under effective control fines are issued to their owner under the Control of Dogs Act 1986.  

This park in Glenaulin was recently inspected by the Dog Warden and dog owners advised of their responsibilities under the legislation.
