MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

That the Manager would provide an updated report on the Palmerstown Community Centre, and include outline information on the agreement to be put in place between the Council and Palmerstown Community Council for the management and operation of the Centre.  

REPORT:

Palmerston Community Council has appointed a Caretaker Committee which is meeting on a weekly basis to progress the completion of the community facility building and to set up the independent company needed to run the facility on behalf of Palmerston Community Council. SDCC staff are assisting and advising the Caretaker Committee on a variety of issues, including the matter of the legal agreement required.

The Council will continue to support the Committee in its efforts as it has done for the past couple of years.
