To ask the Manager for a report on the activities of South Dublin County Tourism with specific focus on any support it is providing to facilities in Lucan and Palmerston?
REPLY:
South Dublin County Tourism has several marketing and promotional strategies that actively promote Lucan and Palmerston as part of the representation of the county.
Membership:
South Dublin County Tourism is a membership based organisation and as such, we do concentrate on those businesses that elect to become a member of the company. That said we do have additional marketing avenues that cover both areas. SDCT also set up the Lucan Facebook page which it operates in conjunction with Clondalkin, Saggart, Rathcoole and Newcastle Facebook pages and the company Facebook page.
Current members of South Dublin County Tourism that receive targeted coverage are:
Hotels – Finnstown Country House Hotel & Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley
Rafting.i.e.
Lucan Leisure Centre
Craic Events Co – outdoor activity that has hosted 2 events in Waterstown Park
Courtney's Thatched Pub – Lucan Village
Willo’s b& b
Stewart's Hospital – 2 shops & 2 restaurants and meeting/conference rooms
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre
Pennyhill Pub
Mint Night Club
Lucan Golf Club
Each of the members has a full profile page across 3 websites that have unlimited changes/edits (see member benefits list)
South Dublin County Tourism have had meetings with Adamstown Cricket Club and have plans to include the club in the county initiative of the Gathering 2013.
SDCT was a Sponsor of Lucan Festival and assisted in press release preparation and distribution to local and regional media. Additionally the festival was promoted across social media channels and featured on the home page of the company website which attracts in excess of 50,000 visits per month.
Hallowe’en based activities from both members and county council properties i.e. Lucan Library were promoted on both Hallowfest.i.e. and hallowfestdublin.com.
Promoted Liffey Descent, Bio Diversity Week, National Trails Days
Targeted promotion of any/all events that take place in member venues.
SDCT are currently positioning the county under the Irish Film and Television Network (www.iftn.ie) which has a unique user rate of 70,000 international visitors per week. We have 80 locations to highlight as part of the county profile.
