MOTION NO. 19

MOTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

That this Committee, noting both the recent Bord Pleanála decision to grant outline planning permission for a new primary school at St. Edmundsbury and the current planning application for an extension to St. Joseph's College including changes to local road traffic arrangements; requests the Manager, further to my motion at the May 2011 meeting, to engage with the elected members, without any further delay, in a holistic review of the traffic situation on Lucan Road with a view to identifying measures to improve traffic management along this road corridor; such as  providing easier egress from Chalet Gardens as previously requested.

REPORT:

There is no objection to engagement with elected members on this matter.  However it would be inapproriate for such a meeting in advance of the decision in relation to the current application for outline permission. Such a meeting could be arranged in the new year.
