QUESTION NO. 12

QUESTION: Councillor E. Tuffy

To ask the Manager if he will examine the footpath and steps to the church carpark at the top of Chapel Hill,  from the point of pedestrian safety and in particular if he will arrange to have vegetation cut back so that pedestrians can use the full width of the footpath?

REPLY:

These steps are not in the charge of the Council. It is the reponsibility of the church owners to mantain and upkeep these steps. The matter will be taken up with the church authorities. The area on the public footpath which has a pedestrian guardrail is the Council's responsibility and any necessary clean up/cutback of the shrubbery will be brought to the attention of the relevant department.
