MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

That the steps from the Church car park down Chapel Hill Lucan be rendered safe by the installation of additional lighting and regular removal of leaves and other hazardous material

REPORT:

These steps are not in the charge of the Council.  It is the reponsibility of the church owners to mantain and upkeep the steps.  The matter will be taken up with the church authorities. The area on the public footpath which has a pedestrian guardrail is the Council's responsibility and any necessary clean up/cutback of the shrubbery will be brought to the attention of the relevant department.
