MOTION NO. 3
MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner
That the Manager, in the light of a serious problem with littering in the Greenfort Gardens area presents a report on the possibility of installing a cctv camera at this location? Perhaps the old coffee shop would be a suitable location.
REPORT:
The Council's Litter Warden has been asked to closely monitor the area in the vicinity of Greenfort Gardens in particular the area surrounding the shops where many of the units have now been closed. Further, enforcement action will be taken under the Litter Act where evidence in support of enforcement is obtained/made available to the Council.
Under the Council's Public Realm Transformation Initiative CCTV cameras have been erected at various locations throughout the county including the following locations in the Clondalkin area:
Quarryvale Park
Kilcronan Court
Coldcut Road, St. Marks Avenue
A Rapid Deployment Camera has also been purchased which has been installed for a trial period of three months at Oatfield Avenue Clondalkin. The rapid deployment camera can be mobilised as required to respond to acute littering/dumping/anti social blackspots. Should the littering problems persist in the Greenfort Gardens area following intensive monitoring by the Litter Warden over the next three months, the rapid deployment camera will be erected at this location.
