COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 7
MOTION: Councillor T. Gilligan
That the Manager present an updated report on providing a school warden for St. Mary's National School, Saggart, Co Dublin. Is there any funding there for this?
REPORT:
As previously reported to the Area Committee it is the Council's intention to provide a school warden once the necessary civil works, which include road drainage and gullies, have been completed. A platform crossing point is also to be constructed. These works are currently underway and are being carried out in a scheduled and co-ordinated way.
Once the civil works on the roadway including the platform are completed, then the necessary barriers, signing and lining will be provided in order to provide a safe crossing place. When these works are completed and the necessary statutory approval obtained, a School Warden will be allocated to this location from within existing resources.
A recommendation in relation to the appointment of the School Warden at this location is before the Area Committee at today’s meeting under Headed Item 10.
