Provision of a School Warden on Millbridge Cross/ Embankment Cross Road Saggart.

Under the terms of the Local Government Act, 1991 (Reserved Functions) Order, 1993, pursuant to Section 96 (1) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961,as amended by the schedule to the Roads Traffic Act 1968, arrangements to be made for the patrolling of locations where school children cross the public road, is a reserved function of the Council. 

The Road Safety Unit has recommended the provision of a school warden service at the following location: 

SCHOOL                                                        LOCATION 

St Mary’s national school                            On Millbridge Cross/Embankment Cross

Saggart                                                            Road [Boherboy Road]

Co Dublin                                                       Adjacent to Lamp no 3                                                                      

The warden to be assigned to this post will be provided from within existing resources.

The recommendation of the Committee will be brought before the Council at its next meeting.
