MOTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"That this Committee discuss with the aid of a report the Emergency Plan Programme for the Rathfarnham area to address adverse weather conditions from storm to snow."

REPORT:

The Major Emergency Plan for South Dublin County is available on the Council's website and can be accessed through the website link in Membersnet.  It should be noted that the plan addresses all types of major emergency including those that are weather related, brought about by major traffic accident or other type of transport accident, fire or hazardous substance incidents.  There is no specific plan for the Rathfarnham area, the plan is a county wide plan.

The flooding emergency which occured on 24 October 2011 is the subject of a comprehensive report to the County Council Meeting to be held on 14th November, 2011.  The matter can be brought back to a future meeting of the Rathfarnham Area Committee if required, following the County Council Meeting.
