Report on Naming of Roundabouts

This matter came before the members at the June meeting and it was agreed that a further report would issue in the Autumn.

Attached to this motion is a map showing the roundabouts in the Lucan area which are located on the National, Regional and other major traffic routes. Many of the roundabouts have local names as indicated and as described in the June reply.  A naming scheme for those unnamed roundabouts can be developed and the Council would welcome local input to this. It should be noted that there are plans for some of these roundabouts to be modified to full traffic light control to improve vulnerable roads user safety as well as improved traffic management.
