QUESTION: Councillor M. Devine
"To ask the Manager when can the residents of Brookview Estate expect the awaited replacement/refurbishment of their windows and doors?"
REPLY:
€1 million was allocated in the 2011 Budget for the replacement of windows and doors that were in very bad condition in Council stock countywide. Prior to this work commencing each house that was on a replacement list in Housing Maintenance was graded 1 to 5 with 5 being the worst. The Council has been concentrating on the replacement of grade 5 windows/doors. 126 houses have been completed todate and it is estimated that 187 will be completed by the end of the year. There are 23 houses graded in the Brookview Area, 15 graded 5 and 8 graded 1 to 4. 3 have been completed and work is in progress in another 2. 9 are on hold due to arrears/anti-social issues and a further 18 are on a list for inspection. There were 9 houses completed under similar funding in this area in 2010.
