MOTION NO. 14

MOTION: Councillor B. Lawlor

That the Manager write to Greyhound, waste management company asking that the Black and Brown Bins be collected (within say two weeks) from householders who reside within Tallaght south area who have indicated that they have switched to another provider.  Many householders complain that they find it impossible to get Greyhound to remove these bins and surely this is in breach of the terms of sale under which they bought the service from South Dublin County Council.

REPORT:

Greyhound have advised that householders must inform them in writing that they have changed to another waste collection provider.  Greyhound Recycling will then endeavour to collect the old bins within a reasonible timeframe. The Council no longer has a role in the waste collection service.
