MOTION NO. 10
MOTION: Councillor C. King
That this Committee calls on the Manager to report on the status of the vacant property *address supplied* which has been vacant for at least two years. To also report on the condition of the Apartment as it seems as a result of it being vacant for so long it is having a negative impact on the adjoining property No *address supplied* which has ongoing serious problems with dampness and associated problems such as mould spores, which has left the apartment almost uninhabitable.
REPORT:
The Housing Department's Clerk of Works inspected the occupied property last week and reported that condensation problems are emanating from the adjoining property due to it being uninhabited for a lengthy period. This can however be remedied by carrying out insulation works and arrangements are in place to have these works carried out in the near future
With regard to the vacant dwelling, a notice to quit was served on the tenant in accordance with the provisions of Section 62 of the Housing Act 1966. The County Solicitor has been instructed to pursue recovery of possesssion of the dwelling.
