QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to confirm how many trees which were included in previous Arboricultural Programmes (2009-10 and 2010-11) for the area under the remit of this Committee for removal or pruning have still not been dealt with, to confirm the locations of these trees, the reasons why they have not been dealt with, and to make a statement on the matter?"

REPLY:

The Arboricultural Programmes for 2009 / 2010 and 2010 / 2011 were subject to significant disruption due to severe winter weather and re-deployment of staff to other works such as clearing snow from footpaths in town and village centres. In addition, the Halloween clean-up in 2009 was delayed due to exceptionally wet weather in November 2009 which further impacted on the programme for that year. While the specific information sought by the Councillor is not readily available, arrangements are being made to extract the information from the relevant records and will be forwarded to the Councillor when available.
