QUESTION NO.4
QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney
To ask the Manager to detail, on foot of my request at the last ACM, the advancement of my proposal to host a Hallowe'en event in Tymon Park, and to make a statement on the matter.
REPLY:
The "spookey walk" Halloween event, held in Corkagh Park last year was part of the Council's Hallowfest Programme for 2010 and was an interdepartmental venture involving the Community, Corporate Services and Parks Departments. As a result of the success of the 2010 event, provision was made at early stage to plan for a similar event in Corkagh Park as part of Hallowfest 2011.
However, due to the pressure on budgets this year, it has not been possible to identify additional resources to run a similar event in Tymon Park. There are however a range of other events taking place around the county as part of the Hallowfest 2011 programme.
