MOTION NO. 7

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

Cathaoirleach's Business

"That the Manager again looks at the rain water drainage which has caused flooding at the back yard of 61 Pearse Brother Park. The drain at 61 Pearse Brother Park is a feeder drain for the rows of 10 houses at the rear and 14 house along side. There is an inspection manhole at the green area at the side of the bike repair shop but none at the front where three drains meet.

Could an inspection manhole be installed at this junction? This would allow the owner to ascertain which section of drain is blocked."

REPORT:

The surface water drain at the rear of No. 61 Pearse Brothers Park used to terminate at a road gully on the road outside No. 61. However, on Thursday 29th September, 2011 the Drainage Maintenance crew redirected the flow from the gully into the 225mm Surface Water Sewer which runs along Pearse Brothers Park road. An inspection chamber over this connection was also installed to access this connection if there is any problems in the future. These works should solve the flooding problems at Bike Repair Shop in Pearse Brothers Park.
