QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn

"To ask the Manager to outline the plans to return the laneway at the back of Airpark estate to its original state following use as a depot during the recent footpath works on Stocking Lane?"

REPLY:

The lands in question at the back of Airpark Estate are the property of Dublin City Council. A trunk water main has been laid through these lands as part of the Boherboy Water Scheme. The route will serve as a private access to the new water infrastructure that is being installed and will facilitate its future operation and maintenance by Water Services Dept personnel of SDCC and DLRD. This infrastructure is key to enhance and sustain the provision of water supply in the area. Works are not yet complete and in this regard a gated access will be provided in due course off Stocking Lane. It is a requirement also that no trees are planted within 5m of the new trunk water-main. Whilst the area is currently clear of any construction waste following its temporary use as a compound during the recent footpath/cycletrack works, any waste arising from future works will be similarly removed on completion.
