STRATEGIC POLICY COMMITTEES - COUNCILLOR VACANCY  (Cllr. C. Keane)

a) Councillor Vacancy On Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee 

REPLY:

The following report was APPROVED at the Organisation, Procedure and Finance Committee Meeting held on 22^nd September 2011:

"A vacancy exists on the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries SPC following Councillor C. Keane's election to Seanad Eireann and consequent disqualification from this committee.  

It is a matter for the Council to appoint a replacement for Councillor C. Keane.  Councillor Anne-Marie Dermody has expressed an interest in being co-opted to replace Cáit Keane, and it is now before the members to recommend approval to the co-option of Councillor Dermody to the ACGE&L Strategic Policy Committee."  End of Report to OP&F.

It was proposed by Councillor C. Brophy, seconded by Councillor W. Lavelle and RESOLVED:

“That Councillor Anne-Marie Dermody be nominated to fill the vacancy on the Arts, Culture, Gaeilge, Education & Libraries Strategic Policy Committee arising from Senator Keane’s disqualification from this committee.”

This matter is now before the Council for approval.
