COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE (2)
Monday, September 26, 2011
MOTION NO. 3
MOTION: Councillor P. Kearns
That this Committee calls on the Manager to ascertain who owns the land outside the AIB bank in Templeogue village where parked cars constantly block the footpath. And, if the land is owned by the Bank, do the Council have any say in the manner in which it is utilised. Also to check if the Bank has planning permission for the ATM that is installed there.
REPORT:
The lands outside the AIB bank in Templeogue Village are not in the ownership of South Dublin County Council. However, the footpath is in the charge and maintenance of the Council. The illegal parking of cars on the footpath is therefore a matter for the Gardai.
The use of the structure for financial services is established and approved. The structure is not a Protected Structure in the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2010-2016.There is a planning history on the site, however, there is no specific reference to an ATM. Notwithstanding this, the ATM has been in place for several years and is considered to be ancillary to the functioning of the approved bank
