QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
To compliment the Manager for the recent Tree Pruning in certain estates which have been welcomed by residents and to ask to have the trees removed from the locations below during the next pruning season? The removal of many of these trees has been requested for a number of years now and some contain fruit such as cherries that create a real hazard for pedestrians others are seriously oversized for residential areas.

The compliments of the Member are appreciated and will be conveyed to local staff who arranged and carried out the work. The trees at the locations in question will be examined for consideration for removal and inclusion on the draft Arboricultural Programme 2011/12. Cllr O’Connell will be kept appraised of the outcome of the inspections.
It is intended to review the draft Arboricultural Programme with the Members to allow for input prior to presenting the final programme to the October Meeting of the Committee.
