The first 27 Respond Tenancies were signed the week of 12th September 2011. Another 33 families will be made offers when Garda clearance received and this is awaited/ There were 23 refusals/withdrawls of offer. The remaining 33 did not reply to contact letter issued by Respond. Allocations have received a request for a further 30 nominations for the Respond Housing and these are being prepared at present. 6 one bedroom dwellings have been designated for Homeless applicants and will be allocted when suitable applicants are available. Respond, on approval by the Council, are also accommodating 5 internal transfers of their existing tenants and approximately 6 Safe Home applicants (migrants returning to Ireland) are being accommodated. Respond are to supply the Council with update of current circumstances.
The St John of Gods dwellings consist of 21 one bedroom dwellings and 24 housing applicants have been nominated. There is also shared accommodation cosisting of 6 by 6 one bedroom dwellings in this facility. Discussions are onging with the SJOG in relation to nominees for this specific type accommodation. Thes is in addition 2 dwellings of 6 bedrooms shared accommodation which will be managed by Menni Services. The Council has 43 possibly suitable applicants for this accommodation but due to the nature of this specific type accommodation consultation with St John of Gods is ongoing.
The Councils 12 x 2 bed dwellings at this location were initailly intended to be Affordable Homes but it is unlilely that we will be in a position to sell them currently. Accordingly approval of the Minister is being sought to socialise them and nominate housing applicants form both the housing and transfer list to them in the near future
