Dublin City Council and it's Contractor, GMC, in partnership South Dublin County Council have replaced approximately 7.5 kilometers of old cast iron watermains in the Walkinstown area since the beginning of the year,2011, plus nearly a thousand old household services from the new watermains to the boundary wall of all properties. This work is now complete with the last of reinstatements of footpaths, roads and verges done recently. Any accidental damage to property during the project works has also been rectified. Prior to the commencement of the Rehab Project the whole area was photographed and surveyed picking up existing defects in walls, driveways, etc. The contractor has been instructed that where there is a doubt about when the alleged damage occurred to household property, the defects should be repaired.
