QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell
To ask the Manager for an update on the provision of traffic calming across the County during 2011 and to indicate in the reply the total budget committed/available for this work and where it is/has been/will be expended.
REPLY:
The Council's traffic calming programme commenced in 2003 and since that time 37 traffic calming schemes have been completed across the County. The total cost of these measures to date is approx €5.7m. There are a large number of locations listed on the traffic calming request list. Since 2009, due to budget constraints, no provision has been made in the Annual Budgets for traffic calming measures.
