QUESTION NO. 16

QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager to include new-tree planting along the Hayden's Lane/Finnstown boundary as part of the next tree-planting programme?

REPLY:

The Hayden's Lane/Finnstown boundary consists of a mature hedge opposite the estates of Woodscape, Brookfield and Silverwood.  The remaining boundary planting consists of a Crataegus monogyna /Acer campestre/ Prunus spinosa hedge varying in height from 1.4 meters to 3 meters with an overall average height of 2.5 meters.  This hedge is interplanted with Quercus robur trees at 11 meter intervals.  The area is considered to be well furnished with hedgerow and trees and it is not proposed to carry out any additional planting at this location at the present time.
