MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge

That the Manager will present a detailed report regarding the derelict site at 9th Lock Road, Clondalkin in view of the disgraceful condition of railings and the dreadful surface of broken concrete.

REPORT:

A site meeting was recently held on the site of the former Clondalkin Paper Mills, Ninth Lock Road, Clondalkin, between Council staff and the representatives of the owner of the site.  The site was deemed to be in a non derelict condition within the definition contained in Section 3 of the Derelict Sites Act, 1990. 

However, the owner of the site was instructed to cut back any overgrowth on the site, remove the blue meshing attached to the fencing and remove litter, in order to prevent the site from becoming derelict.  This site will be monitored and if the recommended works are not completed, further action may be taken under the Derelict Sites Act, 1990.
