Since the enactment of the Derelict Sites Act 1990, the Council has had considerable success in counteracting dereliction and is committed to maintaining this impetus in the interest of enhancing amenity. The Council is in discussion at present with the owners of numerous sites throughout the County with the view to eliminating possible dereliction. Should discussions not lead to a satisfactory outcome, legal proceedings will be initiated against the individual owners.
