MOTION NO. 4

MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

That this Committee requests that immediate cleansing takes place on the cycle lanes on the outer ring road between the junctions of Omer Way and the Lucan Road. This Committee further requests that the area be monitored on an ongoing basis in order that the problem does not reoccur.

REPORT:

The cycle tracks on the Outer Ring Road between Omer Way and the Lucan Road are on road cycletracks and are cleaned as part of the Road sweeping Schedule by the Private Contractor. 

The Outer Ring Road is scheduled to be swept 4 times a year and the Contractor allocates 8 days to the operation. The Outer Ring Road was last swept in early May.

The Cleansing Section will monitor the area to ensure that no issues arise on the cycle lanes.
