COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 18
MOTION: Councillor T. Ridge
That a report be brought to this council re.current numbers of applicants for housing in this Councils area.Report to include details re.new housing plan with specific information regarding unsold houses and apartments and the number of RAS houses occupied by applicants.
REPORT:
There are currently 10,354 housing applicants with South Dublin County Council, of these 5,289 have expressed an interest in housing in the Clondalkin Area. Since 2005, 330 applicants have been transferred to RAS and 14 applicants have been accommodated in unsold affordable dwellings.
We are continuing to proactively roll out our leasing programme and the 2011 target for the County is 200 with another 300 for RAS (a form of leasing). Inevitably a proportion of these leases will be in the Clondalkin area
The question of unsold houses is a matter for the developers and or NAMA and not one that the Housing Department has a role in at this time.
