QUESTION NO. 18
QUESTION: Councillor E. Coburn
"To ask the Manager to detail the location of the Bus Stop and Bus Shelters along the Firhouse Road as part of the current upgrade works?"
REPLY:
As part of the Part 8 process on the Ballycullen/Firhouse QBC scheme the existing bus stops and shelters were to be upgraded with shelters at the existing locations or as close as possible thereto.
The Council have undertaken all necessary civil works to effect this as part of the Contract for the scheme.
The provision, erection and financing of the shelters is a matter for Bus Atha Cliath. Upon enquiry they have informed us that there is not sufficient funding in place to provide shelters at all stops at present. They have prioritised the stops that are to receive shelters at present, and will review the provision of shelters at the remaining stops when funding becomes available.
