SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
Monday, May 09, 2011
HEADED ITEM NO. H7e)
Re: Proposed disposal of land at No’s 1, 21 and 43 Michael Collins Park, Clondalkin
________________________________________________________________
The Council at its meeting held on 16th May 2004 approved a proposal to dispose of the freehold title to strips of land located between the three houses referred to above and a wall which the Council proposed to build between St. Patricks Park and Michael Collins Estates to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area. Minute No.C/0292/04 refers.
The disposal of the strips of land in question did not proceed at that stage as the provision of the wall was re-considered in light of costs involved etc. However, the wall was subsequently built together with a new detached house, adjacent to 1 St Patrick’s Park.
Following a re-measurement of the area between the as-constructed wall and the adjacent houses at Michael Collins Park, it was noted that the areas were slightly larger than that stated in the previous report to the Council on 10/5/2004.
I now recommend therefore, that Term 1 of the report on the disposal of lands adjacent to Nos 1, 21 and 43 Michael Collins Park as approved by the members of the Council at its meeting held on 10/5/2004, be varied to include the following revised areas:
1. Area comprising 80 sqm as shown on Drawing No. LA/11/10 be disposed of to Mr & Mrs. P. O’Loughlin, No. 1 Michael Collins Park.
Area comprising 65 sqm as shown outlined in red on Drawing No. LA/48/09 be disposed of to Mr Richard O’Shea, 21 Michael Collins Park.
Area comprising of 14 sqm as shown outlined in red on Drawing No. LA/12/10 be disposed of to Mr Liam Smith, 43 Michael Collins Park.
The terms and conditions of the disposal otherwise to remain unchanged.
The lands to be disposed of form part of lands acquired from Edward O’ Dowd in 1959 for general development and housing purposes.
