Ministerial reply in relation to Casement Aerodrome.

At the March Council meeting a letter dated 17th February in relation to Casement Aerodrome from the then Minister of Defence and an associated report were considered and discussed by the elected members. Following the discussion the members requested that the matter be referred back to the current Minister, Mr Alan Shatter, T.D., for comment. The Minister has now responded by letter dated 11th April, (attached and listed under correspondence), stating "the contents of the letter referred to accurately reflect the views of the Minister and the Department".

Given the above confirmation and the objective as stated in the Plan in relation to  Casement the Members should now consider the position  as outlined in the Ministerial letter dated 17th February, particularly in relation to the proposed Protocol and the strict conditions attached to same.
