QUESTION: Councillor C. Jones

To ask the Manager if there are any plans to use volunteer support to sustain the opening of the Griffeen Youth Centre through-out holiday periods?

REPLY:

This Centre is operated by Lucan Youth Services on behalf of Catholic Youth Care. The Centre will be providing a Summer Project from the 4th July to the 13th August. 

The Centre is being supported by a grant and a number of activities provided by this Council.  While volunteer support is most likely to be very welcome at the Centre, this is  a matter for Lucan Youth Services rather than South Dublin County Council. Mary Geoghegan  is the contact person at the Centre.

 South Dublin County Council will continue to support the Youth Centre within the constraints of its own budget.
