QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle

To ask the Manager for an updated report on the taking-in-charge of  Griffeen Glen Boulevard & Courtyard; to advise on the outcome of the meeting earlier this month between Building Control Officials and the developer and to advise on a likely timeframe for completion of the taking-in-charge process?

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council continue to be in discussion with Newlyn Construction on the extent of items requiring remedial action. In addition, the CCTV requires further review by Building Control.

Given current constraints within the department,  work will be undertaken at the earliest opportunity. The Council is reluctant at this time to commence making a claim on the Bond and particularly while discussions are still ongoing with the Developer.

The Council will continue to make every effort to have Griffeen Glen Boulevard taken in charge at the earliest opportunity and to the standards that are required throughout all Developments in our County.
