QUESTION: Councillor C. Bond

"To ask the Manager to provide an update on the site of the proposed community centre on the Old Court Road?"

REPLY:

The proposal to build a new Community Centre at Ballycragh  has been through the Part 8 planning process and the Architectural Services Department is currently working on the design drawings for the project. It is envisaged that the project will go to tender mid September which should ensure that work would start on site before the end of the year.

In order to save costs in these difficult times, it is proposed to provide the Quantity Surveying services for this project in-house and we also expect to retain the services of a Structural Engineer from the Council's Framework Panel.
