QUESTION NO.27
QUESTION: Councillor W. Lavelle
To ask the Manager to provide an update on the current status of actions taken by this Council under the Derelict Sites Acts in relation to the site at Coolamber House, Lock Road, noting that the site remains in a derelict state as defined in Section 3 of the Act and that efforts by the landowner to prevent access to the site have not been adequate and have failed to prevent trespassing.
REPLY:
The site at Coolamber House, Lock Road, Lucan, Co Dublin was re-inspected by the Area Engineer in March, 2011, and it was found that the works outlined in the Section 11 Notice, which was issued to the registered owners have been completed satisfactorily, therefore, the site has been declared non derelict.
The Dangerous Building Section has inspected the site on a number of occasions and has reported that the owner has at all times co-operated with requests to secure the site from trespass. However, it is very difficult to secure any site from determined and persistent trespass and the matter will again be brought up with the site owner.
