MOTION: Councillor B. Bonner

That the Manager

a. Meet the management committee of Neilstown Boxing Club and local elected councillors on site and after that

b. See that all remedial works in the Neilstown Boxing Club premises are completed as soon as possible

REPORT:

The new Neilstown Boxing Club was completed and handed over earlier than it would normally have been to accommodate a special anniversary of the club. Normal snagging items were subsequently identified and works have been carried out to address these items. The facility will be monitored by the Architects Dept to ensure that the facility performs as designed.

These major works form part of a community facility enhancement programme which includes an extension and refurbishment of the old Neilstown Community Centre, the construction of a new unit for the Neilstown Pigeon Club and the provision of 15 new car parking spaces.   

A celebration will be held in May to recognise these new works and the contribution that local volunteers make.  Councillors will have the opportunity to view these facilities and meet the management committees.
