QUESTION: Councillor D. Looney

"To ask the Manager to arrange for the repair of the road surface at Walkinstown Roundabout, and to clarify its maintenance with regard to the border with Dublin City Council?"

REPLY:

Funding has been provided in the 2011 Roadworks programme to carry out an upgrade to the surfacing on the Walkinstown Roundabout. Quotations are currently being sought from contractors in this regard. It is anticipated that a contractor will be appointed to carry out this work in  May/June  2011.

Although the boundary with Dublin City passes through the centre of the roundabout, South Dublin County Council have responsibility for the maintenance of the entire roundabout area including the junctions with Walkinstown Avenue and Walkinstown Road.
