QUESTION NO.3
QUESTION: Councillor C. King
"To ask the Manager for a detailed report on the NABCO Community Centre on Donomore Park, stating what progress has been made on the redevelopment or otherwise of the site and that the report be inclusive on any other relevant Council Department's input into the process?"
REPLY:
In July 2010, the Council made a decision to grant permission to NABCO for a development under
Reg Ref SD10A/0105, comprising the demolition of existing two storey community building and construction of 2 no. buildings comprising a 2 storey, detached 3 bedroom dwelling (92sq.m.) and a 2 storey, 3 bedroom dwelling (103sq.m.) with integrated ground floor community room (36.5sq.m.).
NABCO have confirmed the status of this proposal as follows: "With reference to the Nabco Community Centre at Donomore Park. Plans for redevelopment of the facility will be dependent on the determination of a programme for best use of the facility by the community. Discussions are ongoing with Local and community groups and clubs to determine a programme for best use of the Community Centre. When these discussions have been concluded, it is envisaged that a clearer picture will be available of the options which may be pursued subject to funding".
