MOTION NO. 5

MOTION: Councillor P. Cosgrave

"That the Manager give a report on the proposed new park in the area next to Stockingwood Well. The area is part of the Dean Homes development at Stockingwood.

The Residents have been told by the developer that the reason why they had not landscaped the park is that the Council has not decided on the design of the park.

Residents want the park now as we are coming into the summer months for themselves and their children."

REPORT:

The open space referred to is to be landscaped to a plan agreed by the developer with the Council and in compliance with the grant of permission for the housing development generally.  A meeting to progress this is being arranged for the beginning of May 2011.  Even if agreement is reached in 2011 with the developer on the completion and development of the open space it would not be available for use until Summer 2012 at the earliest.
