VACANCY IN POSITION OF AREA CHAIR (TALLAGHT AREA COMMITTEE)

REPORT:

The following report was presented to the Members at the Organisation, Procedure & Finance Committee Meeting held on 24th March 2011:

“Councillor Marie Corr was elected as Area Chair for the Tallaght Area Committee at the 2010 Annual Meeting.  

Following the recent General Election and the consequent casual vacancy that occured in the position of Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Councillor Corr was elected as Mayor on 14th March 2011.

Councillor Corr has now tendered her resignation as Chair of Tallaght Area Committee and the filling of this position (up to the election of a new Tallaght Area Chair at the 2011 Annual Meeting) is now before the Council for consideration and recommendation.”  End of Report to OP&F.

It was proposed by Councillor M. Corr, seconded by Councillor P. Cosgrave and RESOLVED:

“That Councillor M. Duff be nominated to fill the position of Area Chair of the Tallaght Area Committee following Councillor M. Corr’s resignation from the chair.”

This matter is now before the Council for approval.
